Add A Little Pizzaz to Your Candle

Pinterest is very time-consuming and I find myself on it at least an hour or two a day. On a recent  Pinterest “pinning spree” I found myself interested in a very simple D.I.Y. craft that involves a rubber stamp, washable ink and a candle.

These were probably the cheapest items I’ve bought so far, and coupons can always be found online at the store’s website which help out a lot. I rarely print them out ahead time, so I just bring them up on my phone and the cashier scans it right from my screen.

It was only a two-step process to achieve the final product. I had to rub some of the washable ink onto the stamp and then roll the candle on the stamp to get the print on it. The tutorial I found online for this project was just a picture with the different steps numbered one through four with no specific instructions. Since I didn’t have any instructions, I just had the picture to go by and I had to figure out the rest on my own.

I had trouble with getting the print on the candle at first because I couldn’t find the right technique to use. I would hold the stamp in one hand and roll the candle across with the other. The print would come out with empty spaces because I didn’t have the right technique and appeared crooked. There were many times where I found myself wiping off the ink (thank goodness it was washable) and starting over.

Rolling the candle on the stamp

I finally found the right technique to use and by the time I completed the candle, my hands were all black and covered in ink. I figured out that the easiest way to get the print on would be to place the stamp on the table and roll the candle across it. SUCCESS! I can’t believe I didn’t think of this before. I soon got the hang of it and completed the candle by using this technique.

This was a very easy (once I got the hang of it) D.I.Y. craft to do. This is a great way to make a gift for someone and I’m thinking of giving this one to my aunt.
